At this time, PCH Tutors is offering 100% online tutoring to ensure our clients have continued access to our team of expert tutors and academic mentors. We've been perfecting our online tutoring solution for several years now, and we can confidently say that we've developed an online tutoring experience for students that is both intuitive and truly interactive.
For the 2020 fall semester, we are pleased to offer online academic support for parents and students who would like to organize into online pods or microschools in groups of up to four students. Each of our tutors assigned to these small group online tutoring sessions will be following closely with the curriculum and classroom requirements at your students' school to ensure we provide the best possible academic support experience to each of your students.
If you've already assembled your pandemic pod or microschool, are in the process of organizing your pod, or are simply exploring whether or not you are interested in the idea, we've put together group pricing and basic outlines regarding how we can work together below.

Fall 2020 Online Pod Tutoring and Microschooling FAQs
How does your online tutoring system work?
Our online tutoring solution allows your student to interact with their tutor within a shared virtual whiteboard on their PCH Tutors iPad while utilizing a video feed to maintain the face-to-face interactions of in-person tutoring. PCH Tutors can provide your student with a rental of the newest version of Apple's iPad and an Apple Pencil so that they can write, draw, and interact digitally with their tutor in a seamlessly simple way online.
Can students from multiple grade levels join the same pod?
At this time, we are only providing online tutoring to self-organized pods or micro-schools with up to four students from the same grade level to ensure a high quality of relevant learning for participating students. We are certain that each group's needs will vary widely depending on the learning needs of those participating and the academic subjects they'll need support with. However, we intend to provide tutoring that is custom-tailored to each group's educational goals.
Can I only get tutoring if I live near Malibu?
Although we've primarily worked to support our students' in-person tutoring needs in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and West LA since 2009, back in 2018, we started a second company (Simplifi EDU) to expand our educational reach and work with students online. This year we plan to fully employ everything we've learned about online tutoring over the last two years at Simplifi EDU, along with our experiences supporting students following distance education plans during COVID-19, to provide our students with the best educational support possible this fall no matter where they live.
Can I see a preview of how online tutoring works?
You can watch a one-minute video demo of our online tutoring solution here.
How familiar are you with my student’s school and specific curriculum needs?
We have worked with students from Malibu High, Pali High, SAMOHI, View Point, Calabasas High, Agoura High, New Roads, Cross Roads, Archer School for Girls, Beverly Hills High, Buckley, Harvard Westlake, and many more for over a decade. We know the curriculum and demands of these various classroom environments quite well. Therefore, it is our hope that we can work together with parents from our community to support those students who would like additional academic support in a small group setting online.
What subjects do your tutors cover?
While the structure of small group tutoring online is new for us, providing excellent individualized instruction via our team of over 50 academic tutors and academic mentors is not. Every day our clients trust us to do an exceptional job tutoring their students in algebra, pre-calc, calculus, statistics, physics, biology, chemistry, AP & IB courses, English, history, foreign language, and standardized tests such as the ISEE, CHSPE, GED, SAT, and ACT. And every day, we're thankful that we can spend our time sharing the excitement we have about these subjects and hopefully inspire a whole new generation of students to pursue whatever it is they love to do.
Can I join a pod that is already in place?
At this time we are not able to pair students with pre-existing pods. However, if you are in the process of organizing your pod, or are simply exploring whether or not you are interested in the idea, we've put together group pricing and basic outlines regarding how we can work together below.
